Cardiff Castle
While planning our trip to Wales for Handheld Conference, we asked the good people of Twitter what else we should see and do in Cardiff. The Castle came up top.
Cardiff Castle’s interior is unlike anything I have seen before. In the 19th Century the Stuart family became very wealthy due to the Glamorgan coal industry. The third Marquess hired William Burges to remodel the castle in a Gothic revival style with no expense spared. The result is a wonderful, elaborate space every corner a celebration of colour, design, history, legend and nature.
The last photo is taken in the doorway to the smoking room. The devil peers out of the ceiling to scare the women and keep them out!
