New Writing North

New Writing North leads the development of creative writing and reading in the North of England. They believe that writing talent is everywhere, but that opportunities are not. They work hard to both identify talent and create fantastic career-changing opportunities for people from across society. They develop programmes and activities that inspire people to engage with creative writing and reading, whether this is to develop their skills and professional ambitions or for pleasure and wellbeing.

As part of the project, we had to prioritise user experience and information architecture, especially since we had to cover a wide range of content such as youth work, prizes, events, and podcasts. Our aim was to make all the information easily accessible and searchable. The website is designed to be highly flexible, with various modules that enable New Writing North to create unique and on-brand page templates.

Client testimonial

We’ve had a really good experience working with Maraid and continue to benefit from an ongoing relationship with them. Our website build involved consolidating four sites into one, which was a daunting task for us. Jane and Richard really listened to our business needs and offered suggestions and solutions without us ever feeling like the decisions we came to weren’t our own. It felt like a collaborative and creative process. We were also looking for a branding refresh and Maraid brought graphic designer Lee Goater on board and managed the relationship with him, which felt seamless. We've had fantastic feedback on both website and branding, they are really nice to work with, and we'd recommend them to anyone.
