Thackray Museum of Medicine
Housed in the old Leeds Union Workhouse, Thackray is one of the largest medical museums in the UK. Following a £1.5 million grant from Heritage Lottery, we were invited to help grow the reach of the museum through an exciting new website design and build.
We both began our careers in web design and development working for National Museums. We always cherish the opportunity to work on museum websites again. Museum websites have a distinct character as they combine heritage with a contemporary perspective. Museums are a visitor attraction, with learning and collections, offering diverse events and working tirelessly to provide interpretation and raise funds for future generations. Our job is to take these elements and create a website that is accessible, inspiring, educational and fun for everyone. We enjoyed doing this for the brilliant Thackray Museum of Medicine.
