National Poetry Centre

The National Poetry Centre provides a national home for poetry in the UK – connecting people from all backgrounds and cultures to poetry.
As the national headquarters for the artform, the centre will be a hub for poetry awards, events, major performances, exhibitions, workshops, open-mic nights, a library, collections and archives: a gathering place for everyone seeking new ways to express their thoughts and feelings in written and spoken words.
Founded by the Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage, the centre is transforming the iconic Trinity St David’s building in the heart of Leeds into a world-class cultural facility celebrating poets and poetry in all its forms.
We were very excited when the National Poetry Centre asked us to develop their new website. They have big plans for the new space in Leeds and needed a website to help explain their current outreach and future ambitions. We designed an adaptable website to accompany them on their future journey, with particular focus on the new Young Poet Laureate project, which inspires and supports our younger generation of poets.
Client testimonial
Maraid Design provided an exceptional service for our website build and design. They took time and care to fully understand our needs, from the purpose, look and feel of the website through to our overall organisational objectives, and the build and content management system that would best suit our small and busy team. Their commitment to accessibility and sustainability is exceptional. They provided excellent feedback, advice and support throughout the process and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them.
